a day at the zoo

Last Saturday, enigmaticblues, itmustbetuesday, and I went to the Henry Doorley Zoo in Omaha. It was a fun day! The animals were entertaining (not to mention too cute for words in some instances), and we managed to stay in air-conditioned exhibits for most of the day. I have several pictures behind the cut for anyone who's interested.

Me. I hate this picture. HATE! But I thought it would be rude to post a picture of Jerusha and Rebecca, but not of myself.



Awww...a sleeping tiger. It was so hot. A lot of the animals were sleeping, and who can blame them?



This sleeping gorilla just cracked me up.



And I just find this picture amusing. It's like...can you spot the sleeping gorillas?

This isn't the best picture, which is too bad because the swift fox was probably my favorite animal of the day.



Little penguins! Double hee! These guys are surprisingly loud. They were making all kinds of noise while we were sitting near them eating yummy, cold ice cream.



This fish amused me. He just floated in one place forever and looked at everyone looking at him. So I snapped a picture.



Baby snow leopards! I just...I have no words. They were too, too cute - and the real reason my roommate wanted to go to the zoo.



The rainforest exhibit is probably my favorite. Here's a pic from inside.



A zebra!



And here is a picture of Jerusha and Rebecca on our couch, right before we left to take Rebecca to the airport to go home on Sunday. :-(
