Last Saturday, [profile] enigmaticblues, [profile] itmustbetuesday, and I went to the Henry Doorley Zoo in Omaha. It was a fun day! The animals were entertaining (not to mention too cute for words in some instances), and we managed to stay in air-conditioned exhibits for most of the day. I have several pictures behind the cut for anyone who's interested.

Jerusha, [profile] enigmaticblues and my roommate, getting ready to head to the zoo.

Me. I hate this picture. HATE! But I thought it would be rude to post a picture of Jerusha and Rebecca, but not of myself.

Awww...a sleeping tiger. It was so hot. A lot of the animals were sleeping, and who can blame them?

This sleeping gorilla just cracked me up.

And I just find this picture amusing. It's like...can you spot the sleeping gorillas?

Jerusha and Rebecca in the Desert Dome.

This isn't the best picture, which is too bad because the swift fox was probably my favorite animal of the day.

Little penguins! Double hee! These guys are surprisingly loud. They were making all kinds of noise while we were sitting near them eating yummy, cold ice cream.

This fish amused me. He just floated in one place forever and looked at everyone looking at him. So I snapped a picture.

Baby snow leopards! I just...I have no words. They were too, too cute - and the real reason my roommate wanted to go to the zoo.

The rainforest exhibit is probably my favorite. Here's a pic from inside.

A zebra!

And here is a picture of Jerusha and Rebecca on our couch, right before we left to take Rebecca to the airport to go home on Sunday. :-(

Wahh!!! My makeup looks uberscary in that first pic. I must apologize to those unfortunate enough to see it - I was not yet used to my new makeup. It's... more effective than you think it will be. BAH.

I love the rest, however! Mwahaha, the voyeur fish! I loved that fish. And ZEBRA! Yay :D I had so much fun with you guys!

[livejournal.com profile] shanniganx and I have very similar icons...

Hi! My name is Erica, and I just saw a comment of yours in [livejournal.com profile] carrielh's journal. I saw that your username had the word "xphile" in it AND that you had a Gilmore Girls icon, so I had to check out your userinfo page. And ta da, you're a Christian! We have a lot in common. Mind if I add you?

WOW...soooo much cuteness on one page! And animals too! :P

I followed a link from [livejournal.com profile] enigmaticblues journal. I'm a new acquaintance from the Buffy fandom. I'm also Christian, and a book and movie fan, and I'd love to add you to my friend's list if you don't mind.

The gorilla pictures are great, btw. It looks like you all had a really nice visit. :)

Feel free to friend me. I must warn you that you won't find much Buffy talk here. Rather, you'll probably be bombarded with Gilmore Girls and The Office talk. But as long as you don't mind, I'd be glad to have you around.

And thanks! We did have fun!

That's quite all right, I don't spend much time discussing Buffy at my journal either. I'm really just interested in getting to know people around the fandom, and maybe even learn about obsessions outside of the Whedonverse. ;)
