1) I've created a Dreamwidth account. I'm uncertain as to whether I'll ever use it as anything other than a backup to my LJ, but I'm over there. Friend me if you'd like! Or let me know your username so I can friend you.

2) Can anyone recommend a good free antivirus software that they use? I know a lot of you have Macs, but my current virus protection subscription is just about up. I pay for it, and I hate it. So I thought I'd see if anyone had anything free to recommend.

I was so happy to find this on YouTube. Or rather, to have a friend find this on YouTube and link me to it.

I will stop spamming now. I brought some work home with me this evening, so you can see how I am procrastinating instead. You know, now that it's almost bedtime, and I've only written about a paragraph for work. But, I did get bridal shower invites all ready to mail, so that's something I can check off the list!

Tomorrow morning I'm volunteering at the Omaha Food Bank for four hours. It's how they're having us celebrate my employer's 50 year anniversary. Giving back to the community and all. If only I didn't have to go to work in the afternoon.
Apparently CrazyTVFanatic!Heather is back, and I have to talk about this somewhere.

OK, CrazyTVFanatic!Heather is going to take a shower and finish packing her bag, then maybe fall asleep watching Bones. And then she's going to get up at 3:30 and go to Germany. Hopefully Germany will knock the crazy fangirl out of her again.

Well kids, it's here. It's really here. Just a few hours of TV, a few cosmetics to pack, and perhaps a few hours of sleep stand between me and a plane to Germany. Or rather, stands between me and a plane to Chicago, a five hour layover, then a plane to Frankfurt, followed by an hour and a half drive to my friend Nessa's house. Nonetheless, I am excited. I'll be traveling with three of my dearest college girlfriends, and we will be meeting a fourth girlfriend in Germany (as she is currently stationed there in the Air Force). Some of the best memories I have are with these girls, and I'm looking forward to creating many more on this trip. It's going to be just like college all over again, only in Germany this time.

I'll be back on May 9th, and as [profile] enigmaticblues reminded me yesterday, she and I will be going to see Wicked on the 10th. Yay vacation! See y'all on the flip side.

And [profile] carrielh, since I'll be gone on your b-day, I'll say it right now. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Well, Chuck me. That finale was all kinds of awesome. Please do not cancel this show, NBC. I will beg if I have to. And cry. I can cry too if it helps.

A few (highly intelligent) thoughts )

OK. Must work now, despite the annoying construction noises coming through the gaping hole in the wall right next to my desk.
Happy birthday to my BFF, [profile] enigmaticblues! I think your 29th year is going to bring great things for you. (You are getting married!!) Thanks for being the person in this world that I can always count on, learn from, and look up to. I love you. From the very bottom of my heart.

Have a wonderful day.

I think you are all more than familiar with this meme by now. [profile] enigmaticblues gave me the following three men: Michael Scott, Luke Danes, John Crichton. She thought she was being really evil. I, however, had made my decision in about 2.5 seconds.

Happy birthday to my wonderful LJ-turned-real-life-when-I-visit-DC friend [personal profile] sarita_m. The girl who told me just last night that if I stopped watching The Office, it would "shift [her] paradigm." Cracks. Me. Up. Here's hoping your 28th year is your best one yet.

Happy birthday, friend.

I am dating the cutest boy. He just sent me a "happy one month anniversary" e-mail. Sadly, I am a bad girlfriend. The thought hadn't even crossed my mind.

But it was one month ago that I made this post.
My apartment is finally clean. Beautifully, gloriously clean! Yes, it feels that good.

On top of cleaning, I have also managed the following today:
Church with Ben
Buying two bridesmaids dresses (my poor pocketbook!)
Talking to my mom on the phone for over two hours
Three loads of laundry
Balancing my checkbook
Replacing the belt on my vacuum cleaner
Chatting with Ben on Facebook (yeah, I'm kind of hooked on that boy)

Now it's off to find some dinner and work on my bible study for tomorrow night. And then I might just feel ready for this week. I'm feeling much less the emotional basket case, so I'm hoping this week can only be better than last.
I have been in a foul mood today for many reasons, and I came home feeling like I'd been run over by a truck. So I took a shower and decided to do a few things to start cleaning my apartment, namely clean my toilet and vacuum the carpet. It's probably been a month or more since I've done cleaning of any kind, so this place is getting gross. And if I can get a handle on small things, then I just feel more calm about my life in general.

Unfortunately, my vacuum cleaner had other ideas. Soon after I turned it on, it started making a funny noise, and then there was smoke. So much for that idea.
I saw Legally Blonde: The Musical today. I <3 it so, so much. It honestly might be my favorite musical. I know it's not the deepest or the most meaningful one out there. But it's fun, funny, and just so darn feel-good, I can't help but love it. Add to that a road trip in a minivan with five great friends, and I had a great day.

I am very sad to see the weekend go.
Here's wishing a very happy birthday to [profile] shannigansx! What could be better than a birthday in France? And a second (or is third?) birthday in France at that! I hope you have a wonderful day, sweetie. Love you!
Christians on the flist, have you heard this song?

Tenth Avenue North - By Your Side.

I weep every time I hear this song. Weep. Every. Single. Time. There isn't a line in this song that God doesn't use to speak to me, but this one gets me in particular: Why are you looking for love? Why are you still searching as if I'm not enough?

I'm thinking about buying the album.

I so rarely talk about TV around here anymore, but HIMYM, you guys.

Don't click if you haven't seen tonight's HIMYM! )

I <3 this show.
It occurred to me that there's no way I'll finish another book, buy more music, or watch another movie or entire TV series before the end of the day, so it's time to post these lists. I've been diligent at tracking the books, but as far as music and movies go, I probably forgot a few. Is it sad that 25 books in one year is more books than I've completed in the past few years combined? I was hoping to get to 30, but no such luck. I'm in the middle of several books right now, so I included them at the bottom. You'll note that about half of these books are non-fiction and are almost all books I borrowed from Frank. I may not have walked away from that relationship with a boyfriend, but I did walk away with a love for non-fiction.

So funny to me because it's true. Especially right now, with these ridiculously low temps, snow on the ground, and ice on the way tomorrow.

Nebraska Winter

It's winter in Nebraska
And the gentle breezes blow
Seventy miles an hour
At twenty-five below.

Oh, how I love Nebraska
When the snow's up to your butt.
You take a breath of winter
And your nose gets frozen shut.

Yes, the weather here is wonderful
So I guess I'll hang around.
I could never leave Nebraska
'Cause I'm frozen to the ground!!
