In the past three days, I have given in to my Paris and France obsession like I haven't done in a very long time. Maybe it's because part of The Devil Wears Prada is set in Paris, so it got me thinking about France again. Or maybe it's because I'm about to visit the equally French-obsessed
shannigansx. But I've given up all hope of denying my obsession with all things French.
On Monday, my mom and I went to Barnes and Noble. While there, I bought two bargain books. One is a book about Paris, with all sorts of pretty pictures. The other is a book on Van Gogh. I'm not a huge art fan, but I'm a huge lover of impressionist painters. I have no idea what I'll do with these books, but they were cheap. They'll make good table books if nothing else.
Today, my mom and I (along with a friend of my mom's) went to Nashville, Indiana. A cute little artsy town nestled in the midst of a beautiful Indiana setting - rolling hills and lots and lots of trees. It's one of those towns that has all sorts of cute little shops to visit and restaurants at which to eat. It was a lot of fun! While there, my mom bought me an approximately three-foot high, wrought iron Eiffel Tower as an early birthday present. I think I'm going to put it in my bedroom, since it's already an Eiffel Tower advertisement anyway. We're having it shipped to my apartment so I don't have to carry it home with me. I also bought two black and white paintings of various scenes in Paris, one of the Eiffel Tower and one of Notre Dame. I'm going to hang them in my bedroom. I can't wait!
Even more ironic is the fact that I'm watching the Thanksgiving episode of GG right now on ABC Family, and Richard is speaking French. I just heard Lorelai say, "Voulez-vous coucher avec moi ce soir?" Hee!
Tonight, my dad and I are going to go to the driving range if it stops drizzling. We'll see just how much I'm bound to suck at golf.
ETA: I love Lane's Dave! I know she's married to Zach now, but boo! I want Dave to come back. I hate The O.C.!
