Thanks to all who left kind thoughts in response to my last post. I was a little embarassed by that post after I made it. It makes me sound like such a drama queen. Sadly though, I think like that when I'm terribly emotional even though I know it's ridiculously irrational. Sometimes, I hate being a girl. /end self-loathing ;-)

Do I have anything interesting to talk about? I don't know.

Let's see. Friday night I went to see 'Over The Hedge.' I really had no desire to see it, but I was pleasantly surprised to find it to be rather hysterical. So if you're looking for some light-hearted entertainment, I highly recommend it.

Yesterday, I secured Dixie Chicks tickets for the roomie and I. They're coming to Omaha in September. I'm not a huge country music fan, but I do like those girls! So I'm looking forward to the concert, even if it is months away. I've been listening to their new album, Taking the Long Way, all afternoon/evening. I really like it. I also ended up taking a three-hour nap yesterday afternoon. I haven't taken a nap in forever. It was lovely. I have also watched the first eight episodes of season one of Farscape this weekend. How did I not absolutely love this show, and Aeryn Sun in particular, the first time around?! *love*

Today I ran Powerpoint at church, cleaned my apartment, and finally finished my first chapter for a fic project I'm working on. Nothing terribly exciting. But all things I feel very good about getting accomplished this weekend.

I suppose now I should contemplate bed. I may actually be getting some things to do at work this week, from what I hear. Keep your fingers crossed. Oh, and for those of you on my flist who are the praying kind, my brother is now in Afghanistan for four months. If you could keep him in your prayers, it would be greatly appreciated.

*hugs flist* I hope everyone has an excellent week!

P.S. Mucho thanks to [profile] shannigansx who made me two Rory/Logan icons. I love them!! *points to one of them*

Over the Hedge is so cute. I loved Hammy! "But I likey cookie". Hee!

Aeryn Sun is one of the best female characters ever, so I am so thrilled that you now love her! And *sigh* Claudia has this power over me where when she cries, I cry. It's rather sad, but she's so amazing, so yeah.

And I am so proud of you for finishing your chapter! If only I could get my ass in gear. Of course, I have an excuse for not writing my chapter yet, but my fic... I don't have an excuse for that one except pure laziness. I really need to work on this.

And your brother will definitely be in my prayers. *hugs*

Hammy was so cute. Especially that part towards the end where he drinks the caffeine and then all time slow downs. I was rolled over laughing. I have to say, I really liked the turtle. Sadly, I cannot remember his name. My nickname from one of my friends is Turtle, and I have a fondness for them.

Aeryn Sun is fabulous. And I can't get over how much Claude and Ben (I act like they are my close, personal friends) played up the J/A in S1. I watched another episode before I went to bed last night. ;-) DNA Mad Scientist...I hope that's right. I'm horrible with these titles.

Write, write, write, write. ;-)

And thank you!

OMG! I loved that part! I wish that I was like that with loads of caffeine! And I believe the name of the turle is Verne.

DNA Mad Scientist is correct! And I believe that Ben and Claude did a commentary for it as well. They were making fun of the way she looked with Pilot's DNA. I love that episode. John so already loves Aeryn!! And poor Aeryn, she feels like she doesn't have a home to go home to.

I brought a notebook with me to work, so maybe I'll write something (probably not the story b/c that would be too much work to recopy, but maybe some ideas).

From: [identity profile] xphilehb.livejournal.com

If only we were all like Hammy after a little caffeine. Imagine how productive the world would be! And yes, Verne. You are correct.

Well, Aeryn did look pretty freakin' weird with Pilot's DNA. But when she showed John her stomach, and she told him she was so scared. I just about cried. I mean, what it took for her to admit that. *sigh* And hee! She's so attracted to John, and vice versa.

Yay! Write ideas! Write, write, write. I actually have some work today. It's made the morning go extremely quickly.

From: [identity profile] shannigansx.livejournal.com

Yes! I would be very productive... though laziness would probably win out at some point.

*sigh* I have such a great love for J/A. And one day, I will make that post. Wow. My lack of motivation stems beyond fanfic.

Right now, I'm eating, then I have some actual work to do, and after that I might write some ideas down.

Random comment, but I changed my gmail inbox so everything is in French. Hee! I am a dork.

From: [identity profile] shannigansx.livejournal.com

Hee! That is awesome! Can you understand everything?

*goes to see if I can do the same thing with Comcast*

From: [identity profile] xphilehb.livejournal.com

I can understand most of it. Of course, it helps that I've been using the various tabs in English forever so I know where they are. ;-) The only things I'm not terribly sure about are "brouillons" and "corbeille".

I also changed my VCR to French a few months back. I'd completely forgotten until my tried to use it and was like, "ummmmm....." My favorite is rewind, 'rebobinage'. Best. Word. Ever.

From: [identity profile] shannigansx.livejournal.com

"Corbeille" means trash can, and I just looked up "brouillons", and it means rough draft. Sadly, I cannot change my e-mail account to French, but I do have a gmail account... I just never use it.

"Rebobinage" is awesome! One of my favorite French words? "Pamplemousse". I don't know why, and it's not very useful, but it's fun!

One time, I changed the language on my old cell phone. I had only started taking French so that posed a major problem. I was so relieved when I managed to change it back.

From: [identity profile] xphilehb.livejournal.com

Thanks! It all becomes clear now. ;-)

Hee! Pamplemousse. I knew I used to know it, but I had to look it up. I'd love to watch the GG episode where Richard comes to SH and wants a grapefruit dubbed in French!! I've always liked 'l'ananas.' I just think it's so cool that that's an actual word. And 'les haricots verts.' Hee! I'm having way too much fun with this!!

From: [identity profile] shannigansx.livejournal.com

I was watching an episode of Scrubs, and Turk pretends he can speak French. Among some other ridiculous things in French, he yells "pamplemousse!". I laughed so hard. There's so many fun French words! There used to be a guy in my class who loved the word "circ". He'd just go around saying it with a funny accent. Hee! And lately, I have become very fond of the word "merde". I can swear and pretty much no one will know what I'm saying ;-)

From: [identity profile] xphilehb.livejournal.com

Hehe. I'll never forget when I was up in Quebec. We had a grammar test, and our prof was like 'What do we say before a test?' The whole class says, 'Bonne chance!' And he responds, 'Oh, non, non!' And then he precedes to write 'MERDE!' really large on the blackboard. It was hilarious. Man, I loved that guy.

From: [identity profile] shannigansx.livejournal.com

Hee! I would have died laughing. Of course, nothing beats "putain merde", but I'm trying to keep my French a little clean ;-)

From: [identity profile] shannigansx.livejournal.com

So I was just reading my book in order to pass time here at work when what pops up? "Les haricots verts"! I almost started laughing.

Yes, I am easily amused.

"Toujours Provence" by Peter Mayle. I just finished it, so now I have nothing to do. Well, I guess I can try to write down some ideas.

From: [identity profile] shannigansx.livejournal.com

And a very long 35 minutes now that I have nothing left to read! And I don't want to go read any fanfic, because that might get me some very weird looks and some questions as to what I'm doing. Gah!

YAY SHANNON AND HER ICON ABILITY! Very pretty!

I have my fingers crossed for your brother. That's so scary, and you can always talk to me if you become worried or anything - but you know that.

I totally understand the emotional thing, and the embarrassed thing, and I need to catch up on my posts now, because I didn't read your last posts.
I hate being a girl sometimes, too. And I forbid self-loathing. It's mean! I love you, a hundred thousand people LOVE you, I mean, like, really love you, and think you're fabulous and beautiful and amazing. I mean it. Chin up!

From: [identity profile] xphilehb.livejournal.com

Yes, Shannon is mucho talented! And mucho kind to make me such lovely icons for a pairing most of the world's population despises.

Thank you for your concern for my brother!

And thank you. I love you too.

I just wanted to let you know that your bother is in my thoughts and prayers. *hugs*

Plus, the Dixie Chicks are awesome and I don't care what anyone has to say about them. I love their song, Not Ready To Make Nice. I thought it was a right smart on response.

From: [identity profile] xphilehb.livejournal.com

Thank you for the thoughts and prayers!

And yes, I too like Not Ready To Make Nice.

From: [identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_touched/

You're more than welcome hun. There's not need to thank me I do that for everyone who's over there.

I liked that song the minute I heard it.
