Vacation is a truly, truly wonderful thing. Especially when it can be spent at home with absolutely no plans. So far I've managed to spend a lot of money on a wireless card for my laptop, a bookshelf for my living room, and on some new clothes and CDs. Oh well...it's money well spent in my opinion. I've also been reading a really good, but really heartwrenching book for my book club...My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Piccoult. I highly recommend it. But don't expect a feel-good book. It's definitely not one of those. Oh, and I watched the movie In Good Company. A very, very good movie. Plus, Topher Grace is very stare-worthy...and well, Dennis Quaid isn't so bad, either.

And, of course, I'm managed to feast myself on some Gilmore Girls this week. I'm bummed because I set the timer wrong on my VCR tonight, so I missed taping Say Goodbye to Daisy Miller. The plan was to get all of Season 5 on tape over the summer. Oh well. I got to watch a few end of Season 2 eps with [profile] wolfkindred last night. We're moving right along in my attempts to get her all caught up before the sixth season premiere. And this evening, in lieu of the fifth season premiere, I watched the pilot and The Lorelai's First Day at Chilton with my roomie, [profile] enigmaticblues. I think she just might be hooked now, ladies and gents. This, in my mind, is a very good thing. :-)

Other than that, [profile] enigmaticblues and I plan to spend a few hours at Barnes & Noble tomorrow afternoon, her reading The Second Summer of the Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants and me working on my self-study ethics course that I must complete to get my CPA certification. Then on Thursday night we're going to go see the movie Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants with [profile] wolfkindred. And on Saturday, it's Pride & Prejudice movie-watching day with a bunch of my friends. So, all in all, I'd say I'm looking forward to the rest of the week.
