I Am A Complete Loser and Am Loving It (Or Why My Roomie Is Cool)

Here is reason number 1,001 why enigmaticblues is the best possible roommate for me:

I watch Gilmore Girls...A LOT. Whether it be on TV or DVD, I typically watch at least one episode a day. Hence, making me a complete and total loser. But I love it, so I don't care. Well, enigmaticblues has listened to me talk about Gilmore Girls...once again A LOT. And in recent weeks, she's been watching quite a bit of it with me as well as on her own. So last night we watched A Tale of Poes and Fires, and then afterwards proceeded to spend at least half an hour discussing Rory and her going to college. We then got on both the Harvard and Yale websites and looked up admission requirements, tuition costs and financial aid info, which led to a discussion on how unrealistic it is that Rory received no financial aid to Yale, whatsoever.

As if this was not great enough to me, I come home from work tonight and proceed to tell her about the latest GG info I read in Ask Ausiello last night. And then we discuss the sexiness of Scott Patterson and his tattoo. Then, after dinner and a few hours, we talk a bit about The Bracebridge Dinner (which she watched today) and about the various wonderful merits of Luke and Lorelai.

I tell ya, she's feeding my obsession. And it's so great.

I don't mind at all. I've been thinking about friending you myself. Jerusha talks about you quite a bit. She tells me you write some enjoyable Buffy fanfiction. And she's read me several of the hilarious comments you've made on your and her journal. Plus, I once saw you use a Gilmore Girls icon, so I knew I was destined to like you at that point.

Hee hee. I love that icon! And "What am I, dream-slut?" Classic Lorelai Gilmore. So great!

Oh, and the Kirk shirts. Actually I think the Kirk shirts were what began our discussion about unrealistic things on the Gilmore Girls. Because no way could Lorelai have found the time amongst the fire and all that to get all the Yale merchandise plus have the "Rory's going to Yale" shirts printed. But despite its unrealities, I do adore that show. It's unrealities even make it all that much more adorable to me.

But lest I babble on forever, I shall stop typing now. September 13th cannot come soon enough in my book.

Hee! I just forced my friend to watch A Tale of Poes and Fire with me the other night. I love that episode! I always did find it hard to believe that Rory gets no financial aid for Yale. But then, I think about how it's just my mom, and how the only money I get is from my scholarship. No other aid, and well, it's not like we're rolling in the dough. My mom thinks the FASFA is a conspiracy or something.

There are so many wonderful merits of Luke and Lorelai. That must have been a long discussion.

The only financial aid I got was a scholarship. We're still paying buttloads of money.

Hmm, I'm beginning to think that I was very fortunate at my school with the financial aid. And that perhaps enigmaticblues and I have no idea what we're talking about. ;-)

I still think it's unlikely that Rory didn't get anything. Scholarship funds go into the consideration for financial aid, so if she didn't get a scholarship, she should have been able to get student loans.

And if she really didn't get any help, someone needs to go in and overhaul the entire system. :)
