My brain needs a break from work. Hence, an LJ post.
Thing #1: For the first time since I left my prior employer almost two years ago, I actually feel twinges of sadness about the fact that I no longer work there. Why, you ask? Next Friday, the Omaha office is participating in a national townhall meeting at which Stephen Colbert is going to present a 15-minute segment called the "KPMG Report." I feel that as a KPMG alumni, I should be allowed to attend this meeting. Or maybe I can find a way to sneak in. I really want to go.

Thing #2: At the suggestion of both
ciachick711 and
lulabo, I sent pamie a picture of my Dwight bobblehead on strike, along with an e-mail offering my support. On Sunday, I received a very kind reply from her, and she posted my e-mail (along with many others) on her blog. Mine's the last e-mail in that entry if you're interested. For those not in the know, pamie is a writer who used to do Gilmore Girls recaps on TWoP. She's written a couple of books, worked on America's Next Top Model, and prior to the strike, was a writer on Samantha Who. For the time being, she's a strike captain. She's all around awesome and hysterical, and I've really enjoyed reading her personal experience with the strike. It drives home how heartbreaking it is, really.
Thing #3: I have fallen in love with Bones, y'all. I'm only halfway through the first season, and I can't wait to finish the rest. I am so excited that I get to go home and watch Bones tonight (as well as last night's Chuck), it's a little ridiculous. Honestly, I'm not sure I've felt this gleeful about watching something since the season six premiere of Gilmore Girls. Also? I'm in love with this season of TV, in general. I think I'm watching more TV shows right now than I ever have: Chuck, Bones, Pushing Daisies, Private Practice, 30 Rock, The Office, Grey's Anatomy and Friday Night Lights. It hurts my heart a little (or, okay, maybe a lot) that soon there will be no new episodes.
OK, break over.

Also, the negotiations/talks are apparently going well so far. The studios and the writers are meeting three more times this week. Cross your fingers!

I know. I have one friend who still works there, so I hope to get the full scoop from her. Apparently he already did a promotional video for the meeting that is hysterical.

But I'm sad that I love TV just when I'm not getting any more.

That's so awesome you got onto Pamie's blog! (Whenever I hear of Pamie I think of her "Say Something" recap and how everyone disagreed with it, lol.)

TV cannot go away. It just can't.

Yay for getting on pamie! That is awesome. And I forgot how funny your picture of Strike Dwight was. Heee. I am glad you pointed out your letter. I have to admit that I went there earlier in the week, but when I saw how long the mailbox was (I think there were 6 parts) I clicked off. Yay for you!
I have yet to watch Bones, but now both you and Liz are big fans, so I might have to at some point. Just as soon as I am not watching so many shows. I am actually glad that I have tonight off, TV-wise. (And what? I could just NOT watch so many shows? Blasphemy!)

I do still have one friend there. I don't think I can sneak in, but I will have to get full details from her. Of course, as my friend pointed out, I'm sure they'd take me back as an employee if I wanted to be there for the meeting. I don't want to be there THAT bad.

Yeah, when she told me she was going to post it in an entry on her site, I went over there. It took me a long time to find mine amongst all the others. She's received some really great letters.

You should. Booth and Bones have the best kind of relationship on television, in my opinion. The partners/best friends, who are so close and adorable, but aren't actually sleeping together. Oh, the UST. It kills me.

#1: Do it! Crash the Colbert talk! Tell them I forced you!!!
#2: You're awesome, too! Here in LA the air feels -- less tense than it should. I mean, everyone's a writer here, why don't I see more coverage on local news? Must be a conspiracy....
#3: Bones! Bones! Bones!
