i have the worst luck with vacuums

I have been in a foul mood today for many reasons, and I came home feeling like I'd been run over by a truck. So I took a shower and decided to do a few things to start cleaning my apartment, namely clean my toilet and vacuum the carpet. It's probably been a month or more since I've done cleaning of any kind, so this place is getting gross. And if I can get a handle on small things, then I just feel more calm about my life in general.

Unfortunately, my vacuum cleaner had other ideas. Soon after I turned it on, it started making a funny noise, and then there was smoke. So much for that idea.

Preach it, sister. (That said, I ALSO am having vacuuming issues, in that I hate it and don't want to do it, and I am afraid that all the kitty fur is going to just weave itself into a new layer of carpet. But I don't wannnnnna.)

That sucks, I'm sorry. I had a broken vacuum last year, and it was the pits. Even though I don't vacuum as much as I should, I should at least have the OPTION to, ya know?
